Open studio this past Saturday was so much fun. Linda Casano and myself were busy painting butterflies. Well, in actual fact, she did most of the painting. When I host open studio, there is so much energy and excitement flying in the air. With people walking in and out, I have a hard time to concentrate on a painting or drawing. Its like getting distracted by that shiny object, or squirrel!!!!
Today, I have completed the 7th painting called NightBug. I promised to complete one painting a day in 30 days for the mini butterfly series. Saturday and Sunday I did not paint any butterflies!! To make up for this, I will paint two butterflies tonight and post them for sale tomorrow. This should put the butterfly series back on schedule!!
Stay tuned for more fun insights, about what I will be doing for the Vancouver Culture Crawl in November!! There will be, Live Rune Reading paintings, Nordic Mythology, artistic inspirations and stories from Sussanne.
Its the first day of October, it feels like autumn today. I am enjoying seeing the bright fall colours, This is what inspired me to choose these colours, and it felt a little like fire!! I am excited to introduce the 6th painting in the butterfly series, FireBug!
I am preparing the Studio, moving things around, and creating the butterfly display. Making space for my artist friend Linda Casano who will be painting butterflies with me on Saturday from Noon to 5pm!!
We will both have artworks on display and for sale, online and in person. We accept visa, mastercard, debit and e-transfers.
Vendel Arts Studio will be hosting a live Demo, which will be available on Facebook. We are set to share at between 1pm and 2pm. Our plan B, is to post a video of our fun activities, which can be viewed at your leisure.
Looking forward to connecting with friends, and meeting some new people. See you on Saturday, Oct. 3d from Noon to 5pm.
