Wow, its the first day of October. I am excited to say this will be my 2nd Autumn where I am living and working in my very own Artist studio. As I reflect in the last year, there have been more than a few bumps in the road. Thank goodness, I have my connection to my inner Viking Goddess Adrenis.
She is my very own personal super hero. I know when I receive a message from her, this is the correct path.
My artwork, healing, and creating through whatever emotions arise, is how I paint. My artistic expression comes from somewhere outside of myself. Although, I know its inside me. My artwork is also carries hidden messages, images, and symbolism. These messages, are from nature, the vibrations in the air, words spoken, music, and spiritual energies. 
Last year, November 2020, I had a concussion. I am doing so much better than I was. It was pretty scary, not seeing or feeling the things I was used to when I painted. My meditations were blank or black. I continued meditating every day while I was in treatment programs. My first paintings were abstract. I did not like them. They showed my frustration at how I was feeling. Then I started painting butterfly beings, which lifted my spirits!! Every piece I paint, my creativity expands to a different level as I heal. 
It is my own personal belief, that my artwork has healing properties when you really look at them. That is, sit down in a chair, get comfortable, and take the artwork all in. This may take, 2 minutes to a whole hour. When you stand up, you will feel lighter and happier. Every painting looks different , changes colour, images appear, at different times throughout the day because of how the light reflects on it. 
Tomorrow is open studio. Saturday, Oct. 2, from Noon to 5pm. If you are in the area, come by for a visit. Pull up a chair and sit in front of a Vendel Art painting... and enjoy. Careful, you may be inspired to purchase a Vendel Art painting of your very own!!

Welcome VividBug the fifth butterfly in the mini series. It was therapy for myself last night!! There were thoughts & memories that invaded my mind, and once I shared & let them go, it was vividly clear. They are memories, let them be!! It felt comforting to be surrounded by 5 mini butterfly paintings.
When my Nordic ancestors lived the Viking way of life, they carried shields to protect themselves. It is becoming abundantly clear, the butterflies paintings are shields, but in the form of a painting.
Hmmm... something to think about. They are defiantly fun to paint, and each one I paint, I feel a little bit wiser. :)
These mini butterfly paintings are available for sale and  range in price from $150 - $250. Paintings can be picked up in person or delivered to your door.
