Welcome VividBug the fifth butterfly in the mini series. It was therapy for myself last night!! There were thoughts & memories that invaded my mind, and once I shared & let them go, it was vividly clear. They are memories, let them be!! It felt comforting to be surrounded by 5 mini butterfly paintings. When my Nordic ancestors lived the Viking way of life, they carried shields to protect themselves. It is becoming abundantly clear, the butterflies paintings are shields, but in the form of a painting. Hmmm... something to think about. They are defiantly fun to paint, and each one I paint, I feel a little bit wiser. :) These mini butterfly paintings are available for sale and range in price from $150 - $250. Paintings can be picked up in person or delivered to your door. This Saturday, Oct. 3d, from Noon to 5pm, Vendel Arts Studio is hosting Open Studio www.firstsaturday.ca Open Studio, #506, 1701 Powell Street, Vancouver. 604-785-5029 See you on Saturday!! Sussanne Hoiberg Its a butterfly world here in the studio, and I am having so much fun. I have challenges some days, and that is when I get more creative. Sometimes this life seems like a rollercoaster ride. The highs and lows are evening out. Especially when I change the way I look at things. Today GloBug is lighting my way for new opportunities. Just saying GloBug makes me smile.
It is my intent with this series, to acquire resources, however. this is only a part of the puzzle. The butterflies are helping to see the beauty in the world. Artistically yours, Sussanne Hoiberg, seeing the world through a butterfly.... Wow, I love butterflies and the spiritual message they hold. They have always given me a feeling of hope and that everything will be okay. I had some challenges this past week, and I was facing some fears, and learning to be strong and have courage.
A little like a butterfly when they are hanging out in the cocoon before they emerge as butterflies. When they first flutter their beautiful wings and fly through the flower garden they do so with courage and strength. They know they can fly anywhere and they have their own built in protection of their camouflaged wings. This is why I decided to paint butterflies. I am literally painting my own wings of courage so I can be strong and courageous and face anything life has to give me. The butterfly is one of totem spirit animals, and I painted my first in 2015, and now I have continued with my butterfly creations!! On Saturday September 26, I painted the first Mini Butterfly painting called JoyBug, and I felt so much happier after. Today, I painted the OrangeBug, and the next one will be completed later tonight. There will be 30 paintings in total in this series, ranging in price from $150 to $250 each. I am so excited about painting butterflies, and have invited my artist friend Linda Casano to paint with me on Saturday October 3rd from Noon to 5pm. We will have many butterfly paintings for sale. Artistically yours, Sussanne Hoiberg, Artist What does the LoveBug and the Loveable self really mean? I wanted to be wrapped in protection. Perhaps this is what others wanted as well. I meditate before I paint, to make sense of myself and the energies of the world. While I was in my protective Cocoon of the studio, I wanted connection. I had fears around that!! Connection, because we were in COVID lockdown. While meditating, I kept seeing this blue orb, I was fearful of going towards it or even looking at it. In my meditation, I floated towards it, I faced it! My heart was beating like crazy,.. and then the most beautiful thing happened. When I finally decided to leap, into the orb, it was magnificent and beautiful, purple, green, blue, flowers and trees,.. and this bright light. My fears, when I faced the ORB were transformed....into a butterfly. I was surrounded by this bright light. I knew everything was going to be okay. Now I look at the painting I created, and I smile. Because, when I finally face my fears, there is an ease, and I know everything is working out. I am surrounded by loving light and support!! I have started offering special drastically reduced prices on some of my paintings this year only because of COVID. Especially the Cocooned heart, because, if one painting can give someone comfort, then my gift of a discount will help make the world a happier place. Purchase online or come in person, September 5 from Noon to 5pm, Its First Saturday open studio in Vancouver. I am keeping physical distance and maximum of 4 people in studio at once to keep safe distance, with Masks worn. 1701 Powell Street Vancouver. Hope to see you on Saturday, or arrange for a private viewing. vendelarts@gmail.com Intuitively and Artistically yours, Sussanne Hoiberg |
